Yin-Yang Yoga Balance Workshop

When: Saturday May 10 2013

Details: I’m teaming up with D-Luna Yoga to host a workshop in which you’ll see two different sides of yoga.

Be immersed in yoga; the flowing gentle practice of Hatha yoga (yang) and the deeper more passive practice of Yin yoga.

The workshop will start with an hour and a half hatha yoga taught by Dee. After a small break we will continue with an hour and a half yin yoga taught by Lisette.

As your spine lengthens, your chest can open and can be receptive to love and all the kindness the universe can offer. You begin this process by loving and accepting yourself as you are, after which you can open your heart to others.  This is a lifelong process for most of us, but our workshop brings insight in how this might feel. So why don’t you join us and discover the deeper levels of being? And remember, you are as young as your spine!

After the beautiful spine work and chest openers in the first part of this workshop, the second part immerses you in yin yoga.

Yin yoga is a more passive practice, that allows us to work on the deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints, and fascia. In yin, we hold poses for longer periods at a time with relaxed muscles. Yin is yielding, allowing, and nourishing. But yin is also challenging, both physically and mentally. If you are used to doing more dynamic types of yoga, yin will be a great counterbalance to your practice.
